TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Tuguegarao City Science High School’s Jashley Tungcul Pascual and Gosi National High School’s Lady Valerie Correo won this year’s Mr. and Ms. Schools Division Office (SDO) of Tuguegarao, respectively.
After the heart-stopping search on Saturday, January 20, in SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown, the two will represent the division in Mr. and Ms. Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CAVRAA) 2018 this February.
Wearing a football player’s attire with the city’s official colors of blue and yellow, Pascual also notched the best sports attire award. He was also crowned Mr. SM Center Tuguegarao.
“I kept practicing [before the contest], it feels great [to win],” the 13-year old Tug. Sci student told Forum.
Meanwhile, Correa, donning an archer’s getup in the contest, also won best sports attire.
She also clinched best talent following her piano and singing performance. The 15-year old Gosi student told Forum she learned to play the piano when she was around seven years old.
“Inspiration po lahat nung sumusuporta sa akin kasi naniwala po na kaya ko at mananalo ako,” Correa said.
Meanwhile, Cataggaman High’s Benmar Bucayu won Mr. SDO 1st runner-up aside from securing the most number of minor awards, best production number, best smile, and best creative ethnic attire. Cataggaman’s Jamie Caryl Mateos also won Ms. SDO first-runner up.
Second runners-up were Tug Scie’s John Wesley Pelagio who also won Mr. SDO best talent and Cataggaman’s Kristine Mae Gregorio who also won Ms. SDO best production number.
Linao High School’s bets Jhonvie Pallingayan and Hanna Shane Cortina landed third runner up.
Cagayan National High School’s Grace Guzman won Ms. SDO best creative ethnic attire, while Tug Scie’s Daphne Marlouise Aquino and Chelsea Conception won Ms. SDO best smile Ms. SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown, respectively.
