TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- The Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya received P200,000 for its second Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) award.
“The CROWN award is a program of the National Nutrition Council (NNC) giving recognition to local government units for being a consistent regional outstanding winner in nutrition programs,” Nueva Vizcaya government said in a press release.
Vice Governor Epifanio Galima Jr, Provincial Administrator Maybelle Dumlao-Sevillena, and former governor Ruth Padilla received the award in the Philippine International Convention Center reception hall, Pasay City on Tuesday, December 12.
Governor Carlos Padilla said in his message,”We mobilized families with malnourished children and encouraged their active involvement and participation in various activities and made them our champions of economically stable, healthy, environmentally aware and ‘green-minded’ families in the province.”
“Under my watch, the Provincial Nutrition Council (PNC) did not rest on its laurels but continued to trail-blaze innovative strategies bringing and cascading more services to the grassroots level in close coordination with the local chief executives and nutrition action officers,” he added in the provincial government’s release.
Former governor Padilla said they will work harder to achieve their third CROWN next year and win the National Honor Award, the highest award from NNC.
The provincial government said they will have to maintain a score of 98% next year in the monitoring and evaluation of nutrition program implementation to pass their third CROWN. Northernforum.net
