Tuguegarao City – The Department of Tourism Region 2 is helping tourists caught in the enhanced community quarantine procedures. In a press release, DOT said that last March 18, they have assisted the transfer of four tourists to Ninoy Aquino International Airport to ensure they were able to catch their scheduled flights.
DOT arranged the transfer of the tourists via an accredited transfer operator in the region which is the Northern Luzon Transport Operators and Drivers Multi-Purpose Cooperative or (NOLTRASCO). The Department of Tourism also added that they are giving free accommodation to stranded tourists.
Right now, there are 16 tourists that are still isolated in Batanes due to the quarantine procedures set by the governement. DOT is currently coordinating with the LGU of the island province to repatriate the tourists to their respective countries. Together with this operation, DOT R02 is currently helping other tourists as well as OFWs to leave the country.
