TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Typhoon Rosita (Yutu) has changed course for a possible landfall in Isabela-Aurora area, from previous Cagayan-Isabela.
All weather forecasting agencies worldwide predicted Rosita will move downward and may slightly weaken due to prevailing Northeast Monsoon, or Hanging Amihan.
In its press briefing 4 pm on Sunday, October 28, state weather bureau PAGASA said Rosita maintained its strength ahead of its expected landfall on Tuesday, October 30.
Rosita has sustained maximum winds of up to 200 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 245 kph.
No area has been placed under storm warning signals yet.
The typhoon was last located at 750 kilometers east of Tuguegarao, moving west at 20 kph.
PAGASA warned residents at the low-lying areas of possible flashfloods and landslides as the typhoon is expected to dump moderate to heavy rains in its 800-kilometer diameter.
The typhoon is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday, October 31, in Ilocos Sur area. Northernforum.net
