TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- One person died while 11 others were injured when a truck slipped and overturned to a ricefield in Barangay San Pablo, San Mariano, Isabela on Friday, January 19.
In a phone interview, Chief Inspector Vicente Guzman identified the fatality as certain Ruben Amistad, 61. He added that the injured victims were brought to the hospital.
Amistad, a chief barangay police in Barangay Balliao in Benito Soliven town, was proclaimed dead on arrival and was suspected to have died from heart attack.
The group were reportedly on their way to receive their financial assistance for the government’s financial program 4Ps when their truck tried to avoid an approaching truck.
Due to soft ground and narrow road, the truck slipped and overturned, plunging into 4-feet deep slope.
Police are still investigating and looking to filing charges against the female driver. Northernforum.net
