Tuguegarao traffic enforcer survives ambush

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines-  A traffic enforcer in this city is now being treated after the still unknown assailants opened fire at him Monday morning, November 21.

Police identified the victim as certain Paul Butacan, 35, resident of Barangay Tanza, Tuguegarao City.

In their initial investigation, Butacan was reportedly manning a traffic near a fastfood chain along Bonifacio Street when the gunmen wearing helmets and aboard motorcycle shot him several times.

Investigators recovered bullet shells in the crime scene.

Police are now investigating the motive of the shooting.

Meanwhile, in text message with Forum, Mayor Jefferson Soriano said he already tasked the police to probe the failed try to kill Butacan. –northernforum.net
