Over 1,000 families affected, 1 dead, 1 missing due to TD Maymay in Cagayan

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – With heavy rainfall brought by Tropical Depression ‘Maymay’ over Cagayan, there are around 1,210 families affected with 1 reported dead and 1 missing fisherman as of noontime Wednesday, October 12.

Based on the Cagayan Provincial Information Office’s report, there are 3,611 affected individuals from 1,210 families from 35 barangays in the towns of Aparri, Allacapan, Buguey, Camalaniugan, and Pamplona.

There are also over 80 people currently relocated to evacuation centers all over the province due to flooding from #MaymayPH.

As for the reported casualty, 1 person has been reported dead in Buguey town due to the effects of the weather disturbance.

However, details on the fatality are still being verified by local authorities.

Meanwhile, 1 fisherman from Barangay San Vicente, in the coastal town of Sta. Ana has been reported missing by residents.

Presently, no Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals are hoisted over Cagayan province, but dense rainfall has been pouring since Tuesday moring, October 11 as the Tropical Depression approached Luzon.

Tropical Depression Maymay is forecast to move southwestward towards the Eastern parts of Central Luzon. TNF
