CDRRMC recommends declaration of State of Calamity in Tuguegarao City

The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, headed by Ma. Soledad Sapp, has officially recommended the declaration of State of Calamity in Tuguegarao City following the reported damages, and that more than 15% of the total population has been affected by the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.

According to Tuguegarao City Information Office, the CDRRMC held its meeting earlier today.

“Upon the reports of CSWD Officer-in-Charge, Ms. Ma Teresa Singson, more than 15% of the total population has been affected by STS Paeng.”

With this data, the City falls under the criteria listed by the NDRRMC on its Memo Order No. 60, series of 2019.

The City Council is expected to act on the recommendation of whether to approve the declaration or not.

Last week, Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba already declared the province under State of Calamity. TNF
