TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Cagayan Valley Police on Monday, March 12, recognized six members of their Women’s Police Service (WPS) for their “praiseworthy” and “remarkable contribution” in attaining the regional police force’s goals.
Police Regional Office 02 (PRO2) awarded “Medalya ng Papuri” to Police Senior Inspector Nieves Mena, SPO4 Charito Ricamora, PO3 Jennifer Peralta, Senior Police Officer 02 (SPO2) Cherry Jane Dela Cruz, PO2 Lizel Alvarado, and SPO2 Lorna Galindon.
City of Ilagan Isabela Councilor and Sectoral Representative for Women Doctor Lilian Bringas led the pinning of medals to the awardees.
She was assisted by PRO2 Regional Director Chief Superintendent Jose Mario Espino and Chief, Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division (RPHRDD) chief Police Senior Superintendent Juan Aggasid.
Bringas inspired women and men officers alike as she also served as Guest of Honor and Speaker of the said activity.
In her message, she emphasized the vital role and laudable contribution of women in the success of an organization.
“To the lady police officers, you are a proof of the diversity of worth awaiting woman nowadays. As frontliners in protecting the rights of woman and children, you are the confidence of abused women.” Bringas said.
“When a victim of rape or sexual abuse approaches your desk, she comes with less fear and shame knowing that she can count on your help and support,” the councilor-doctor added.
The Valley Cops joined in the celebration of Women’s Month in the highlight of their traditional Monday flag raising ceremony to recognize the dynamic role of women in the community.
