TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Authorities have killed a suspected big-time drug lord from Isabela and his two companions in Quezon City on Sunday, July 16.
Joint forces of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of the Police Regional Office 2 (PRO-2) were serving an arrest warrant to Johny De Leon, 53, around 5 am on Sunday when suspects from the house fired at them.
Police responded to the fire and have killed De Leon, a certain Arnold Manipon Criste and a still unidentified man.
One policeman was hit by a bullet but was unharmed as he was wearing a bulletproof vest during the operation.
Recovered in the scene were three guns, six sachets of suspected shabu and a passbook with millions amount of transactions.
De Leon is allegedly operating a drug trade in the provinces of Isabela, Cagayan, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya, all in Cagayan Valley region.
Senior Superintendent Remus Medina, Cagayan Valley Police Intelligence Unit chief, said De Leon have been supplying illegal drugs in Region 2 for more than a decade now. Northernforum.net
