
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – To strengthen the anti-insurgency campaign of the current administration, Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) headed by Governor Manuel M. Mamba passed a resolution declaring the Communist Party of the Philippines – National Democratic Front and the New People’s Army (CPP-NPA-NDF) as persona non grata in the entire province of Cagayan.
The resolution was passed last July 24, exactly a month after the 2nd Quarter PPOC-Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council Joint Meeting where the resolution was recommended and discussed.
Cited in the resolution was the Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) report that the CPP-NPA-NDF were visibly operating in the Province of Cagayan specifically in some barangays of Baggao, Gattaran, Gonzaga, Lasam, Rizal, Sta. Ana and Sto. Niño.
Furthermore, it included NPA’s admission to the burning of heavy equipment specifically the three concrete mixers, compactor, grader and dump truck used in the Project of the Provincial Government of Cagayan in Agani, Alcala last March 1.
In addition, the government called for the end of all armed threats in the province and encouraged all concerned authorities to create initiatives to stop insurgency and attain peace.
