TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Three days after President Rodrigo Duterte declared the closure of all gaming schemes operated, licensed, and franchised by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba received a 10-million peso donation from the alleged corrupt organization.
In a televised message last July 26, Duterte declared that all transactions done by PCSO are illegal, and ordered the suspensions of all its outlets.
During the Flag raising ceremony at the Capitol on July 29, re-elected Gov. Mamba, Acting Provincial Treasurer Mila Mallonga and the Officer-in-Charge of the Provincial Health Office Dr. Carlos D. Cortina received a check worth P10,000,000 from PCSO General Manager Royina Garma represented by Emy Ubales.
The said money will be used for the procurement of Mobile X-Ray machine and Doppler Ultrasound machine for the Northern Cagayan District Hospital at Sanchez Mira, Cagayan, and other nearby municipalities.
Furthermore, Gov. Mamba thanked PCSO for their support to the province, and praised the President for his will to fight the corruption inside PCSO’s organization.
In addition, the Governor called on 3rd District Board Member Rodrigo De Asis to make steps toward the re-establishment of operations of the outlets.
