TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan-The National Electrification Administration (NEA) in partnership with Cagayan Electric Cooperative (CAGELCO) conducted clearing activity with the theme “Electricity Access for All: A Platform for Nation Building” all over the city as part of the 1st nationwide line clearing and tree planting day in celebration of the 9th National Electrification Awareness Month (NEAM), August 31, 2018
The line clearing activity was simultaneously done by NEA-CAGELCO in all the covered areas in order to give quality service in the province.
Nenita De Guzman, director, CAGELCO said that they had some trouble talking with Member-Consumer Owners (MCOs) because they were hesitant to cooperate.
De Guzman added that one of the problem was the fruit-bearing trees which are the MCOs0 livelihood.
Some MCOs rejected their trees to be cut although it’s an obstruction to the electrical lines.
Later on, the MCOs were forced to give way because it is also for their benefits and security.
De Guzman assured that this line clearing activity would positively help them answer the often electric interruption.
Meanwhile, on the district of Penablanca, District Head, Dr. Rodney Mora said that the line clearing activity was successful because of the positive response of the MCOs in the district.
In addition, the month of August is known to be the National Electrification Awareness Month which is celebrated yearly.
