NPA abandons dead commander

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan- Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) in cooperation with the Barangay Officials of Barangay Dibuluan, San Mariano, Isabela extended Financial Assistance for the Burial of an abandoned Dead New People’s Army (NPA) Commander on January 26, 2019.

Isabela Police Provincial Office, Provincial Director, PSSUPT Mariano C Rodriguez  in his report, the identified NPA Commander was Melencio Casisola, 56 years old, Commanding Officer, Sangay ng Partidong Platoon (SPP) REMO of Central Front and a resident of Brgy. Balliao, Benito Soliven, Isabela.

Rodriguez said that based on the Statement of Certain John, at about 7:00 pm of January 19, 2019, a group of seven (7) members of the New People’s Army (NPA) in which six (6) of them were armed with high-powered firearms and one (1) of which has serious illness asked him (John) to let them enter his house to treat their sick comrade.

Furthermore, later on the sick comrade died at 2:00 AM of January 20, 2019 because of lack of medical attention.

One of the members told John that their dead comrade is Melencio Casisola aka “Milis”, Commander of the NPA and immediately left the cadaver in his house without giving decent burial.

After the NPA left his house, he immediately reported the incident to the Barangay Officials and informed them about the incident.

The said official likewise reported the incident to San Mariano Police Station for the conduct of an investigation.

PRO2 Regional Director PCSUPT Jose Mario Espino immediately orders Rodriguez to extend financial assistance to the family  of Casisola for the funeral expenses to lighten the burden and to express sympathy to the bereaved family.

“I would like to reiterate the call of our President that he wanted peace in our country and he is willing to offer livelihoods and houses to members of the new people’s army who will submit themselves to authorities for them to start a new life,” He added.
