STNHS students win Sta. Teresita’s Diwata at Prinsipe ng Kalikasan 2018

SANTA TERESITA, Philippines- Two grade 10 students of Santa Teresita National High School won this year’s coveted “Diwata at Prinsipe ng Kalikasan”, as part of the this town’s 3rd Namunit, 6th Ecotoursim Festival.

Reymark Tabigne of Barangay Mission and Catherine Piel Soberano of Barangay Centro West were crowned “Diwata at Prinsipe ng Kalikasan,” respectively.

Soberano, who came as candidate no. 11, also earlier won “Diwata ng Media,” while Tabigne, candidate no. 02, was adjudged “Most Photogenic” prinsipe and prinsipe with “Best in Creative Indigenous Attire.”

Further, the two also nabbed the “Best in Diwata at Prinsipe” attire awards.

Aside from the usual sash and boquet for the female winner, the two received cash prizes and a plaque from this town’s local government unit.

Meanwhile, after coming up close to the titles, “Diwata at Prinsipe ng Lawa” are Ma. Cristel Sabalo of Centro East and Marvin Babida of Alucao, respectively.

Mark Lhester Viloria of Barangay Villa and Rhenierienjoy Javier of Barangay Luga won Prinsipe at Diwata ng Kagubatan, respectively.

Javier also received “Diwata ng Social Media” award and “Best in Creative Indigenous Attire” among the diwatas. In this pageant, the attires were made by local designers.

Also, “Diwata at Prinsipe ng Kweba” are Marivic Duque of Alucao and Kurt Rappel Asuncion of Centro East.

Further, 1st Runners-up were Mission’s Mary Loise Darauay and Centro West’s Iarner Keat Leidniz Amog who also clinched “Prinsipe ng Media” award; while 2nd Runners-up were Diana Rose Capa of Masi and Justine Rovie Rosal of Buyun.

The search for “Diwata at Prinsipe ng Kalikasan” is one of the most awaited and anticipated part of the town’s ecotourism festival, according to most locals and visitors. The pageant started at 9 PM on Saturday, March 10, and ended minutes past midnight on Sunday, March 11.

For other special awards, both Centro East bets Sabalo and Asuncion won Diwata at Prinsipe ng Globe, respectively.

Diwata no. 01, Welgie Veron Pelaez of Barangay Villa, won “Most Photogenic” diwata.

Prinsipe ng Social Media” is Brainard Domingo of Barangay Aridowen. In this pageant, the attires were made by local designers.

Diwata ng Kalikasan Soberano and Prinsipe ng Kalikasan Tabigne are expected to appear for the first time together as current title holders on Sunday’s Street Dance competition in Barangay Luga. Northernforum.net
