
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Isabela police nabbed four suspected illegal gamblers in an operation at Barangay San Fermin, Cauayan City on Monday, March 12, and Tuesday, March 13.
Authorities arrested on Tuesday Edward Solito, 23, for violating Presidential Decree (PD) 1602 or the law against Anti Illegal Gambling, at Barangay San Ignacio, Ilagan City, Isabela.
Solito is from Barangay Poblacion, San Pablo, Isabela, police said.
Confiscated from the suspect were P1,143 worth of money, three pieces plastic baskets, two pieces pingpong balls, one betting table, four betting boards, and one funnel.
The operation was conducted by the combined force of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit 02-Isabela Provincial Field Unit, Isabela Police Provincial Office and Ilagan City Police.
Meanwhile, a day earlier, police arrested Jackson Dacuycuy, 33, of Purok 6 Tagaran, Cauayan City; tricycle driver Geronimo Carag, 38, from Purok 5 San Luis, Cauayan City, and Gerardo Malana, 54, of Purok 5 Tagaran, Cauayan City, Isabela in violation of PD 1602.
Police confiscated from the said suspects two pieces of dice and cash amounting to P400 in total. Suspects are now under the custody of Cauayan City police.
Cagayan Valley Police Director Chief Superintendent Jose Mario Espino commended the operating teams for their accomplishments against illegal gambling in Isabela.
Espino earlier encouraged the public to help authorities in their anti-crime efforts in the region. Northernforum.net
