Valley Cops nab Nueva Vizcaya’s 5th most wanted, 13 others

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Cagayan Valley Police nabbed 14 wanted suspects including the fifth top most wanted person in the province of Nueva Vizcaya, in separate operations on Monday, March 12.

In his report to Camp Crame, Police Regional Office 02 (PRO2) Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Jose Mario Espino said joint force of Regional Intelligence Unit 02, Bagabag Police, and Nueva Vizcaya Police arrested Dante Soprepena, 44.

Soprepena, a resident of Sitio Dumayop, Brgy Baretbet, Bagabag town, ranks fifth among the province’s top most wanted persons, with a crime of murder.

Also arrested in Nueva Vizcaya was Ralph Teddy Abungan, 27, a resident of Buenavista, Bayombong town, who is wanted for the crime of attempted homicide.

Meanwhile in Isabela, San Mateo police and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Isabela nabbed Noralyn Velasco, 51, from Barangay Sinamar Norte, San Mateo, Isabela for the crime of Estafa.

Naguilian Police arrested Jerry Manuel, 44, of Magsaysay, Naguilian, Isabela for the crime of arson.

Further, Quezon Police arrested Arnel Pera, 38, of San Juan, Quezon, Isabela for Violation of Republic Act 9262 or the”Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.”

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, March 13, eight wanted persons were also arrested in separate operations in Isabela, Cagayan and Santiago City. They are Mary Richerd Bersida, 21, from Villafuerte, San Mateo, Isabela for the crime of Theft; and Alfredo Marling, 42, from San Fabian, Echague, Isabela for violation of the “Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.”

Also on that day, Teresita Pattaguan, Rogelio Saquing, Margarita Rebadavia, Rogelio Pattaguan, Maria Macapia and Alejandro Pattaguan were arrested by Tuguegarao City police via Warrant of Arrest for alleged Falsification of Public Document.

PRO2 Public Information Officer Chevalier Iringan said the arrests are part of police’s intensified campaign of Manhunt Charlie. Two weeks ago, police caught 25 wanted suspects in just one day.

Regional Director Espino again lauded the regional police force, commending the operating units for their relentless effort in catching wanted persons and suspected criminals in the community.
