SOLANA,Cagayan-As part of the Philippine National Police (PNP) campaign against illegal drugs, Solana Police Station nabbed a drug personality yesterday, June 2, 2019.
Based on investigation disclosed by the authorities, the suspect (Reynaldo Yacat, 57 years old, married and a resident of brgy. Maddarulug Norte) was repeatedly selling dangerous drugs particularly Shabu withing Solana.
Acting on the information, PCPT Jhun Jhun Balisi, Chief of Police, Solana, Cagayan conducted an anti-illegal drugs buy-buy operation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 2 (PDEA-2).
According to police report, during the operation, the suspect, Yacat sensed that the poseur buyer was a police officer which prompted the suspect to shoot using an unknown make caliber 38 revolver. The poseur buyer also shot the suspect hitting his right hand (where he holds the firearm) and purposely to stop the suspect from firing.
The police officer fired back again hitting the Yacat’s chest. Immediately, Yacat was rushed to nearest hospital by mobile patrol but reported to have died later on.
Yacat’s companion fled away from the scene using a black XRM.
