TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan-The Philippine National Police detained the top 3 most wanted leader of New Peoples Army in the Province of Cagayan Valley, September 2 in Sitio Nagtapulan Brgy. Naguillan Camiguin Island, Calayan, Cagayan.
The PNP named the NPA leader Edison Erese y Culasing, A.K.A. Jingjing/Ronnel/Elmer also the current staff member of the Regional Operation Comman (ROC) military Staff (MS) of Komiteng Rehiyon-Cagayan Valley (KR-CV) of CPP-NPA which commands the area of the region.
Culasing’s wife, Divina Erese y Manuel was also arrested, former medical officer of Danilo Ben Command of CPP-NPA of West Cagayan.
Culasing and Manuel was arrested for illegal possession of fireams and explosives, murder and arson which is filed in different areas of Cagayan.
Meanwhile, the PNP confiscated two 45 Calibres, ammunitions and grenades, (2:00AM), September 2, 2018.
The suspects were arrested through the joint forces of the Police Regional Office No. 2, Cagayan Provincial Office and Marine Battalion Landing Team 10 of the Philippine Marines.
In addition, the PNP discovered that Erese replaced Victorio Tesorio as the Top 3 NPA leader in Cagayan Valley since the encounter with Tesorio in one of the operation in Tarlac recently.
