TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- A magnitude 5.4 and a magnitude 2.4 earthquakes hit the province of Cagayan early Monday morning, April 16.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said the first earthquake struck 39 kilometers southeast of Gonzaga, Cagayan around 3:47 am on Monday.
The second quake happened just an hour later 38 kilometers, also southeast of Gonzaga town.
The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 23 kilometers.
PHIVOLCS said there are no expected damages and aftershocks.
Intensity 1 was also felt in Santiago City in Isabela province and Laoag City in Ilocos Norte. Northernforum.net
