STO, Niño, Cagayan- 17th Infantry (Do or Die) Battalion encountered countless CPP-NPA-Terrorist (CNTs) in Barangay Lipatan Sto. Niño, Cagayan, at around 4:20 PM on May 9, 2019.
According to initial reports, the collision lasted fifteen minutes of crossfire between both sides. Fortunately, the government military resulted in zero casualties after the encounter, while the NPA terrorists group was reported to be still in investigation.
Militaries recovered one (1) M16 rifle, one (1) M14 rifle, different equipment in producing IED or Improvise Explosive Device and other personal things and documents. Meanwhile, the military are continuously conducting Combat operation to find out casualties among the terrorists they have encountered.
17IB which headed by LTC Pagala was grateful for immediate information from the citizens of the said barangay who are tired and feared by the presence and threat of the terrorists which was carefully studied and planned for our soldiers to be successful in their operation.
However the government military will be more alert and firm in pursuing the NPA terrorists that is why they want them to surrender to the government. “Hindi pa huli ang lahat at may pagkakataon pa kayong mabuhay ng tahimik kasama ang inyong pamilya” LTC Pagala said.
