TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- A 37-year old policeman was killed in Centro 02, Tuao, Cagayan on Friday morning, August 18.
Tuao Police told The Northern Forum in a phone interview that the victim was identified as PO3 Michael Licayu Alvarez, a resident of Rizal, Cagayan. Alvarez was assigned in Taguig City.
PO2 Wilson Pascua of Tuao said that Alvarez was shot by armed men upon entering a panciteria in the town at around 10:45 am. Earlier reports state that the cop was even rushed to the hospital.
In a Facebook post, a cousin of Alvarez said, “Alam ko na hindi ka nila kaya sa harap harapan kaya pinagplanohan ka insan.”
Later in the afternoon, police conducted a follow-up investigation on the incident. Northernforum.net
