TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Four soldiers were killed while one was wounded in an encounter with communist guerrilla members in Nueva Vizcaya province.
Report from Nueva Vizcaya police identified the fatalities as certain Staff Sergeant Dexter John Tagacay, Corporals Jayson Sabado and Rusty Galan and Private First Class Abraham Lindo.
Injured was Corporal Gerby Soriano, who is now undergoing treatment for his wounds at the back of his neck.
Police said the soldiers were members of the 84th Infantry Battalion (IB).
Report said troopers of the 84th IB were conducting a military operation in Barangay (village) Dine in Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya.
