TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- Among the provinces of Region 02, Cagayan earned the biggest collection of quarry tax revenue, with P 71.7 million as of December 11.
The province of Isabela comes in at second with P27.6 million, followed by Nueva Vizcaya with P18.1 million, and Quirino at P857,000.
Cagayan Provincial Information Office said the Provincial Government of Cagayan’s effort on quarry operations was lauded in the 7th Provincial Mining Regulatory Board (PMRB) Summit in Santiago City on December 6-7.
Cagayan Quarry Division chief Edwin Jesus O. Buendia Jr earlier said the province’s quarry tax revenue ballooned up to 1000% since last year.
He also said it will be a “bonus” for the province to collect P75 million by the end of the year.
Buendia served as resource speaker in the PMRB summit wherein he shared his experiences and best practices to other province’s PMRB members.
The summit was led by Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region 02. Participants discussed programs, problems, and possible solutions in their quarry operations. Northernforum.net
