100 drug surrenderers in Isabela to undergo drug rehab

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — At least 100 drug surrenderers who underwent drug assessment in the police stations all over Isabela were recommended to undergo drug rehabilitation program.

The drug assessment is jointly conducted by the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO), city and municipal health employees in each local government unit (LGU) and the police.

Based on the police’s initial drug assessment conducted in various towns of Isabela, there are at least 22 marijuana severe users, 27 cocaine severe users, 51 methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu severe users.

The Isabela Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has already registered 7,587 drug surrenderers since the Oplan Tokhang was implemented in the province in June this year and some 5,170 of the total drug surrenderers were already assessed wherein 100 of them are severe drug users.

IPPO head Senior Supt. Leon Rafael said the police will continue the drug assessment, together with the Department of Health (DOH) until all the drug surrenderers in Isabela have undergone the drug assessment. PNA / northernforum.net
