Architect dies in bus-motorcycle collision, bus fumes fire

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines- A man died after his motorcycle collided with a bus along Gosi Sur in this city, early Tuesday morning, August 8.

Tuguegarao City Police Superintendent Edward Guzman confirmed the identity of the rider as Noriel Christian Parallag, a 38-year old architect from Pengue-Ruyu in the city.

In their initial investigation, Police stated that Parallag bumped a carabao cart owned by Lorenzo Canaya on the side of the road. This resulted to him swerving to the opposite side of the highway before hitting and sliding underneath a GV Florida sleeper bus bound for Tuguegarao.

The bus fumed fire after the incident. All 20 passengers were unhurt as they got off the bus in time.

Local rescue team rushed Parallag to Cagayan Valley Medical Center but he passed away mid-morning.

Guzman told the Northern Forum that the driver of the bus, Walter Paule, a 44-year old resident of Gattaran, Cagayan, is now under the custody of the police.

Parallag was on his way to Isabela when the accident happened. He is survived by his wife and their two children.

The police is still conducting further investigation on the incident. Northernforum.net
